Colleyville family in Keller, Texas
Hi there! I meant to get back into the groove of all things social media and online presence, like blogging, when school began for us – but with Harvey hitting our fellow Texans it almost didn’t feel right. Now there’s Irma and then the earthquake in Mexico… and I went to sleep with news that someone from my past whom was dear in my heart, and part of our extended family, has passed… and I am just mind blown. My heart is heavy for all those affected by these events and it feels almost wrong for me to post anything other than uplifting words and prayers, but as I see on my computer screen all the beautiful faces and families that I have yet to share about – I am reminded that, this is why I do this. This, in general. Because that ‘ol cliche, we just never know what tomorrow may bring… is so true. And I am being real and raw here, which are exactly the feelings I aim to evoke. I am no salesperson (probably a major flaw for a small business owner), I get an icky feeling when I come across as such because what I hope to provide through my services can’t be expressed in, or reduced to, a sales pitch. I have nothing to sell you, but moments to give. So while I could sit and stare at my screen in disbelief of the events unfolding, I know it is important for me – it is my job – to share these moments I have had the pleasure of capturing; because they may comfort someone one day, or they may push someone to document their own… and so I shall begin to share these wonderful memories because we only have “one life, one story to tell”. Starting with this gorgeous family from Colleyville.
This session was originally meant to start as a cozy lifestyle session in their beautiful home and end with outdoor images… However, December weather had different plans and we got one photo outside before the chilly wind (I believe in the ‘teens that day) had us rethinking and ultimately rescheduling the outdoor portion for springtime. And if I may say so myself, I think it turned out even better that way!
I absolutely love when I get to document the touch of a father…
…and in the arms of a mother.
The indoor lifestyle portion from December was an instant favorite, too!
They were the sweetest! Loved the G family and looking forward to seeing them again! 🙂
Hopefully those I am able to meet have their memories printed so that they may be cherished for years to come. My why, hopefully your why, and the why for the value of photography. xx.
